Your Practical Test

A practical test is the final step in obtaining a full UK driving licence. Once your driving skills have reached a suitable level, you should speak with me to advise on the practical test. You should take your test when you feel competent. Remember: everyone is an individual, so preparation is catered specifically to you! The lead time for booking a practical test is normally 4-6 weeks, but this often varies.

On your test, you will use my car (the same car you have learned in). Normally, I will pick you up 2 hours before the test time to help with some smooth preparation. You will need to pay for this time (at my normal rate), and for a third hour to use the car in your test. I recommend a lunchtime practical driving test; the test routes are generally quiter away from rush hour traffic and, in wintertime, you’ll get the best daylight. A complimentary drive home after your test is standard procedure.
